I understand that failure on the part of any member or affiliate of my team to adhere to these rules will result in the disqualification of my entire team. If I am a participating in the Art or Journalism Contests, I hereby grant to CRF-OC, the worldwide, fully transferrable and sublicensable, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty -free right and license to use and re-use, publish and re-publish, display, edit, distribute, sell and copy the artwork or written materials that I submit (the “Submission”), individually or in conjunction with other visual or printed matter, or in composite form, and in any medium or media now known or hereafter created, for promotional, marketing, editorial, commercial and/or educational purposes, in perpetuity. I understand and agree that, if selected, my Submission together with my name and the name of my school may also be publicly displayed by CRF-OC in a courthouse or similar location following the Orange County Mock Trial Program competition. However CRF does not promise or guaranty that the Submission will be displayed. I am voluntarily entering into this waiver as part of my request for my child to participate in the Orange County Mock Trial Program competition sponsored by Constitutional Rights Foundation. I agree that as a parent/guardian my child is permitted to participate in the Orange County Mock Trial program. I further certify that both my child and I understand and agree to follow all rules specified in the California Mock Trial Program Team Rulebook, Courtroom Art or Journalism Contest rules, and any other rules, guidelines, or regulations deemed appropriate by CRF-OC and/or the Orange County Superior Court. I understand that my child is voluntarily participating in these activities with knowledge that, as with any activity conducted in a public place with many attendees, some danger may be involved. On behalf of myself and my child, I agree to assume any and all such risks, whether they are known or unknown, of participating in these public activities. In consideration for their participation in the Orange County Mock Trial Competition, I further agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless CRF-OC, its employees, board of directors, officers, contractors, volunteers, program organizers, sponsors, and representatives for any and all claims, damages, costs and expenses resulting from lawsuits and other proceedings by any third parties arising out of any acts, omissions or conduct of my child while s/he is participating in the Orange County Mock Trial Competition. CRF-OC has permission to take photographs and video/audio recordings of me and/or my child, and to use, copy, edit, publish and distribute those photographs and video/audio recordings, along with information pertaining to the identity of my child, for the purposes of awards recognition and/or CRF-OC promotions and publicity, without any compensation to us. I understand that these photographs and video/audio recordings will not be used for profit or commercial endeavors, but rather to encourage future participation in CRF-OC sponsored events. I understand that photographs and video/audio recordings of my child and information pertaining to their identity may appear in various media outlets including, but not limited to CRF-OC flyers, newspaper articles, magazine publications, computer communications (e.g. electronic mail, internet promotions, and CRF-OC’s social media channels), and television. If my child is participating in the Art Contest or the Journalism Contest, on behalf of my child, I hereby grant to CRF-OC the worldwide, fully transferrable and sublicensable, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty free right and license to use and re-use, publish and re-publish, display, distribute, edit, sell and copy the artwork or written materials submitted by my child (the “Submission”), individually or in conjunction with other visual or printed matter, or in composite form, and in any medium or media now known or hereafter created, for promotional, marketing, editorial, commercial, and/or educational purposes, in perpetuity. Display of Submissions: I understand that, depending on availability of display space, if selected, my child’s Submission may be put on public display in one or more courthouses or other locations following the completion of the competition. However, CRF-OC does not promise or guarantee that the Submission will be displayed. Without limiting the rights granted above, CRF-OC and any participating court or other organization hosting the display shall have the right to publicly display my child’s Submission and to use her or his name and school in connection therewith.
