I further certify that both my child and I understand and agree to follow all rules specified in the California Mock Trial Program Team Rulebook, Courtroom Art or Journalism Contest rules, and any other rules, guidelines, or regulations deemed appropriate by CRF-OC and/or the Orange County Superior Court. I further agree to ensure that my child abides by all state, local, school district and/or school protocols and guidelines regarding COVID-19, and any other infectious diseases when participating in any mock trial related activities (including, but not limited to, practices, scrimmages, and competitions). I also understand that CRF-OC and the Orange County Superior Court may establish additional COVID-19 protocols to ensure the health and safety of all Mock Trial participants. I understand that failure to adhere to these health and safety protocols may result in my child’s disqualification from the competition. I understand that COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death and that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place regardless of precautions that may be taken. My child is voluntarily participating in these activities with knowledge of the danger involved and I agree to assume any and all risks associated with COVID-19 and other communicable diseases, whether those risks are known or unknown. In consideration for their participation in the Orange County Mock Trial Competition, I further agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless CRF-OC, its employees, board of directors, officers, contractors, volunteers, program organizers, sponsors, and representatives for any and all claims, damages, costs and expenses resulting from lawsuits and other proceedings by any third parties arising out of any acts, omissions or conduct of my child while s/he is participating in the Orange County Mock Trial Competition. CRF-OC has permission to take photographs of my child, and use those photographs, along with information pertaining to the identity of my child, for the purposes of awards recognition and/or CRF-OC promotions and publicity. I understand that these images will not be used for profit or commercial endeavors, but rather to encourage future participation in CRF-OC sponsored events. I understand that my child’s photograph and information pertaining to his/her identity may appear in various media outlets including, but not limited to CRF-OC flyers, newspaper articles, magazine publications, computer communications (e.g. electronic mail, internet promotions), and television.
