Mock Trial Alumni Reception

19th of August 2016

On the evening of July 12th, CRF-OC held its 6th annual Mock Trial Alumni Reception. Attorneys, judges, CRF-OC board members, current and former mock trial coaches and students gathered in the beautiful rooftop Sky Garden high above Irvine (thank you to Jones Day for the venue) to reconnect and celebrate the Mock Trial program. CRF-OC was proud to present the inaugural Mock Trial Alumni Award to The Honorable Karen Scott. This award will be given each year to an alumnus or alumna of the Mock Trial program who has gone on to significant success in their career and made valuable contributions to the community. The Honorable Karen Scott participated in mock trial in high school and has gone on to great success, first as an attorney in Orange County and now as a Magistrate Judge to the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Judge Scott is a longtime CRF-OC volunteer, Past President of CRF-OC and a member of the CRF-OC Judicial Advisory Board. Judge Scott was unable to attend the reception, but asked her judicial externs, both of whom are former mock trial participants, to accept the award on her behalf.
